Visa-free travel to China for Luxembourg citizens extended until end of 2025
Waiver was initially announced from March to November to encourage people to visit China for business and tourism
China has extended visa-free entry for citizens of Luxembourg - and ten other European countries - until the end of 2025, the Chinese embassy in Luxembourg said on Wednesday.
The step was taken keeping in mind the “excellent relationship” between China and Luxembourg and to promote people to people exchanges, the embassy said.
The visa-free scheme was initially announced in March until the end of November to encourage people to visit China for business and tourism.

It has now been extended until December 2025 not only for Luxembourg passport holders but also citizens of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland.
Visitors to China travelling for business, tourism, family visit and transit purposes for a period of 15 days can benefit from the scheme. Those who have to travel for other purposes or for more than 15 days will still need to apply for a visa.
The Chinese embassy also said that the first direct flight to China from Luxembourg’s airport - part of China’s ‘air silk route initiative’- has been operating smoothly with steady growth in the number of passengers.
