A wild camper who went viral with photographs of his tent pitched on a perilous wind-lashed promontory in Snowdonia has warned others against following in his footsteps.

Bowater, who lives in Kingswinford in the West Midlands, where he converts campervans, said that the winds on the outcrop made it dangerous for the unprepared.

“I went up about five weeks earlier just to find it and to have a look. I had to use a map and a compass to locate it. Most people would never find it and I wouldn’t want it to become the most sought-after site in Snowdonia”
